Confirmation (ROC)
When Does the Process Begin? 
Registration takes place in August.  ROC Small Group Sessions begin in late September.

What are the Age Requirements?
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Raphael's begins in the fall of the 9th grade year.  Candidates are confirmed in the spring of the 10th grade year if all the requirements are met.

What is the First Step?
Registration through the St. Raphael Faith Formation Office.  Contact Paulette Schatz at 763-537-8401 ext 211.  The cost for is $65.00 per year (proof of Baptism may be required).

Only regsitered St. Raphael parishioners can be enrolled in the ROC Confirmation program.

What Happens Next?
Attend the 9th Grade ROC Parent-Teen Information Meeting in September of each year.  It is important for a parent(s) and the teen to attend this meetings.  We go through the details of the high school Confirmation process and answer questions that you may have.  The date for the meeting will be announced soon.

What Will Happen In Year One - 9th Grade?
1. Attend the 9th Grade ROC Parent-Teen Information Meeting
* Sign the ROC Confirmation Agreement
* Receive information on the ROC Program (needed forms)
* Meet with your small group and small group leader
* Learn about he upcoming 9th Grade Confirmation Retreat

2. Choose a Confirmation Sponsor

3. Attend the 9th Grade Confirmation Retreat (usually in October)
- The 2012 Confirmation Retreat is being held at Camp Friendship near Annandale MN.

4. Attend all ROC Small Group Sessions during the school year held at the parish / school on Wednesday evenings.  Attend 2 Wednesday Experience Youth Groups.  Attend 1 Wednesday Night Prayer Gathering.

5. Do 10 hours of Community Service


What Will Happen In Year Two - 10th Grade?
1. Registration once again through the St. Raphael Faith Formation Office

2. Continue to attend all ROC Small Group Sessions held on Wednesday evenings during the school year held at the parish / school. Attend 2 Wednesday Experience Youth Groups.  Attend 1 Wednesday Night Prayer Gathering.

3. Attend the 10th Grade Confirmation Retreat (usually in October)
- The 2012 Confirmation Retreat is being held at Camp Friendship near Annandale MN.

4. Do 10 more hours of Community Service.

5. Complete a Confirmation Interview (Wed. April 11, 2012).

6. Attend the Confirmation Mass itself on Thursday April 19, 2012 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis at 7:00 PM.

7. Attend the Welcoming Celebration at St. Raphael’s on Sunday April 22, 2012 at the 11:00 AM Mass with reception following..


Each Confirmation Candidate is expected to fully participate in the sacramental life of the Church.

Faithful Sunday Mass attendance and regular participation in the Sacrament of Penance is critical to the spiritual growth of each young person preparing for the  Sacrament of Confirmation.

This participation is irreplaceable in the Confirmation preparation process. 

Getting involved in other youth ministry activities at St. Raphael’s is highly recommended. 

The Experience (Sr. High Youth Group), WOW & ARMOR, NET LifeLine Masses, Mission Trips, Steubenville Conferences and CORE TEAM, are just some of the ministry opportunities for our
high school teens.
